Day One (Thursday)
Friday, March 30th, 2007
3:12PM - Nope, not better in the pits. Bear with me, here...
2:40PM - The internet is not awesome out here in the stands! I hear it's better in the pits...
2:33PM - We lost again... we're getting sold pretty short here.
2:31PM - We're up right now! COOL.
2:27PM - WE WON! 16-14. Pretty close. Again, here are some pictures:
1:13PM - We had lunch. Our next match is circa 1:50PM.
11:29AM - The internet is getting worse... updates will continue, though!
11:23AM - Here are some pictures from out last match!
Of course Amanda's ready to cheer it up!
Richard had a Canadian flag going! GO CANADA!
All set up and ready to go.
One great autonomous, again. Ready to block!
Ian's getting great with those ringers!
Ramp down and ready to go...
And it's done!
Close 'er up!
Bad quality picture of the score, which was 6-10 due to a penalty on our alliance...
11:16AM - Another loss... we're quite disappointed with our alliances so far. Due to another penalty from an alliance member, we lost 6-10. Also, our ramps deployed beautifully and on time, but our alliances were a little directionally challenged...
11:06AM - We're up next! Match 17, that is.
11:02AM - Match 15 beat the WORLD HIGH SCORE for Rack 'N' Roll this year! It was 316, and is now 338! Congratulations to teams 1114, 188, and 1680!
10:53AM - I'm done my scouting, so here are some pictures from our first match of the day! It was Match 5. Unfortunately, our alliance was penalized, and one of our alliance robots was immobile... that being said, we did great, considering!
No, John is NOT carrying the robot by himself =P It does look like it's floating, though, doesn't it?!
Karthik with our flag on the big screen.
A little autonomous defense, working quite well, or course.
Karthik on the sidelines.
Doing what we do...
We will, we will BLOCK you! Hahaha...
Ramps, what?! 30 bonus points, please.
Packing it up.
The score was actually 36 to 24 (after the penalty)... they didn't show it right! None the less, great effort! Our ramps will not give up.
10:34AM - I've been asked to add a link for the NASA Webcast... http://www.discoverychannel.ca/first if you're interested!
9:42AM - Time for me to go do some scouting-esque work in the pits!
9:33AM - Match 2! I can't do this for every match... but, hey, it's a taste of the action for you guys. This time it's Red: 1547, 1075, 188 and Blue: 1558, 1112, 269. Team 1112 is MIA! Both 1558 and 1075 having some technical difficulties... and no ramps deployed at all! Final score is 20-8 favouring the Red Alliance.
9:28AM - Time to START IT UP! Match 1 includes Teams 1514, 1053, and 176 on the red side versus the blue alliance of Teams 48, 1006, and 1503! 1006's ramp went down during autonomous... that'll be a penalty. 48's ramps are down and is 1053's single ramp. No one got up, though. Blue owned the scoring, lead by 1503. Final score is 80-0 for the Blue Alliance!
9:19AM - We're in the middle of the Opening Ceremonies. The "game video" is being shown now. We've already met our judges and had some speakers excite us about our futures.
8:38AM - As promised, here are some more pictures:
We got mounted by TWO robots in our last match of the day! 60 points, baby!
Andre and Kristen at Playdium watching some DDR madness.
There were much more than that, too... wow.
See what I mean?! Look at that...
Liz (Delphi ELITE 48) and Kristen spending some quality time together!
DINOSAUR ATTACK!!!
Leah, Amanda, Andre, Kristen. Slushies ensued...
Quinn and Dante, up to no good! Not really, though.
Mr.Awad and Ben shooting 'em up! Dr.Capaldi and Mr.Green keeping a close eye on the action!
The boys in virtual car racing things... it's pretty intense!
Kristen and Liz again!
8:19AM - Set-up time! We got good seats... and the internet is still off and on! I'm trying to get some pictures up from last night. We went to the Mandarin for dinner and then went to Playdium! We saw Team's 48 and 379 there. So, keep checking back for pictures.
