Saturday, March 11th, 2006 - See the match chart
11:53PM - We packed up after our final match and the battery on this laptop died, so here's a recap: alliance one took the gold, we won the spirit award, and we received honourable mention for safety! We leave the hotel tomorrow at eight.
2:12PM - Alliance three versus alliance six: Three just won one, and the second round is just about to finish. It looks to be leaning in three's favour again.
1:59PM - Alliances two and seven are versing.
1:55PM - Even though it looked like a win in the bag, our robot went too far into a corner goal, and as a result, our alliance was disqualified. This means we can't advance any further at this competition.
1:52PM - The refs seem to have reached a decision.
1:51PM - The suspense is painful!
1:48PM - The pending score is 25 to 57 in our favour! This could mean a tie for our alliance. We now have to wait for accuracy of points as well as any penalties.
1:47PM - We're getting balls in the goal!
1:46PM - We're in the lead!
1:46PM - Our robot shot balls during autonomous, but not far enough.
1:44PM - Match two for us begins now!
1:43PM - Alliance one moves on to the semi-finals.
1:42PM - 772 is on the field, putting the robot into position for our second quarter-final match against the fourth alliance. Losing this means the end for us, but winning gives us a tie and a chance at the semi-finals.
1:39PM - Currently, the second match of alliance one versing eight. One has one win, so if they win this, they move onto the semi-finals.
1:36PM - Our alliance, the fifth one, on blue - Red: 76, Blue: 39. We still have a chance to stay in later.
1:32PM - The match is over. We did alright, but it doesn't look like we got it.
1:30PM - We're playing the fourth alliance right now!
1:18PM - The first match is being judged. Meanwhile, one of the teams has called a time out, and the mascots are going onto the field to dance.
1:04PM - The first match of the finals and it's a false start! Goodness. Well, it's alliance one versus alliance eight. Another false start . . .
12:25PM - Some photos, and off to lunch!

11:13AM - The final match is being played right now, including 1126, the first-place team as of now.
11:12AM - We won our last match! A good way to end the qualifying round for our team. Each team will send out one representative to the field at half past eleven to form alliances.
10:55AM - Up we go!
10:53AM - The next match is ours. There are two more after it, and then the qualifying round is over. When they finish, there will be alliance choices and lunch. Pretty sure lunch is second.
10:35AM - Andre reports our team has one qualifying match left.
10:34AM - We won! Red alliance 40, blue alliance 39. On a sidebar, they're playing the Space Jam theme again.

9:13AM - The president of FIRST is now speaking.
9:11AM - Our first match of the day will be in half an hour (twenty to ten).
9:11AM - Well everyone, Mr. M. got here early to grab some good seats. They let us all in at eight in a giant mob, and about half an hour later a previous match was replayed due to the autonomous light not turning on yesterday during the original match. Our team did a lot of cheering, and so did the other teams. Friendly competition! We've just watched the Aim High! video, and the opening ceremonies are taking place.

4:18PM - That's all for today. Aruj is upset because they won't be announcing the animation winners until tomorrow. Don't forget to keep reading - tomorrow, the finals!
4:15PM - And of course, the Woody Flowers Award. It goes to . . . 340!
4:12PM - The Website Award goes to . . . 340!
4:11PM - Congrats to 250 for winning the Judges' Award!
4:10PM - Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award. A long title, a great award, and a job well done by US! Team 772 has won an award!
4:05PM - Delphi Driving Tomorrow's Technology Award, recognizing design elegance. Congratulations, 1559!
4:03PM - Xerox Creativity Design - pure creativity. Team 467 wins this award!
4:00PM - Radioshack Innovation & Control Award: unique machine functions. Who receives the award? 1126!
3:58PM - The Imagery Award - who's pretty? The award goes to . . . 1591! Monty Python imagery always deserves the gold.

3:52PM - Big thanks to the judges, refs, and all the good people on hand.
3:50PM - Awards ceremony begins now!
3:37PM - Even Andrew, our old webmaster, is getting anxious!
3:35PM - Someone from the Holy Hand Grenades challenged Erbas to a dance off, so Erbas lifted him up and spun him till he fell from dizziness. A gruesome defeat!
3:32PM - The Sabres are restless and full of energy, doing some strange things to pass ten minutes. Erbas, our mascot, is dancing around and crawling around. Whitney's joining in!
3:29PM - The final score is 15 to 71, not in our favour . . . The awards ceremonies start in fifteen minutes.
3:26PM - Deniz said he patched autonomous up, and he wasn't kidding - our robot took right off and fired five balls at the beginning of the match. However, another bot was in the way, so no points. The match is over and we're waiting on the score.
3:25PM - We're in the final match of the day, right now!
3:23PM - As promised, some pictures from today:

3:18PM - Our next match, in about fifteen.
2:54PM - Another loss: 44 to 28. Our autonomous has been disabled until we can figure something out with the code, which is making the balls fly out too quickly.
2:34PM - We lost this last one by quite a bit: 79 to 46; however, our robot got a lot of balls into the goal. There could be a ten point penalty somewhere depending on a post-game safety inspection. Next match: ten to three.
2:10PM - We're up to the plate in just a moment . . .
1:43PM - For our alliance failing to have a back bot, we suffered penalties and ultimately lost the match. We play again at quarter after two.
1:32PM - We're just going up!
1:09PM - Our next match is at around half past one.
1:05PM - Lunch is over now. Pictures are coming, promise.
12:11PM - What an amazing match! Luckily all captured on film, to be posted when it eventually gets the beautification treatment. The score: 6 to 86, a bold win! Somebody lost their flag, but hey. Alright, time for lunch!
12:01PM - Well, looks like we're up right now anyhow!
11:52AM - A loss, 23 to 59. Our next match is number 21, and they're at 19 right now. However, lunch is at noon, so we might be waiting a bit.
11:37AM - We're up!
11:32AM - These are definitely severe technical difficulties. It seems the autonomous lights won't stay on. All the matches have been pushed back about twenty minutes by this. And, now all is working!
11:20AM - Andre reports the Entrepreneurship Award has been submitted. Also, they've been trying to get this match-before-us started for quite some time now. Technical difficulties!
11:10AM - We're the next match!
10:58AM - It's the fourteenth match right now, and our next is the seventeeth. It should be around 11:22.
10:52AM - We lost that last one, 20 to 18.
10:28AM - Matt Davidson says: we're up very soon, we're being queued.
10:15AM - We won! The red alliance dominated with a 48 to 32 victory.
10:08AM - Sweet, we were just on the big screen doing a crazy dance! And now we're up!
9:45AM - Our first match: lost, 24 to ten. 1511 pinned us against a wall. We launched about three balls into the goal.
9:35AM - We're going up right now!
9:30AM - Our first match is against 1511, 467, and 1765, with our blue alliance of 1930 and 1551. It will be at 9:37 - the second match of the competition.
9:28AM - The microphone kept cutting out on the girl singing the anthems, but they slyly swapped it halfway through. Everyone's now preparing for the first match of the competition!
9:21AM - The referees - now the sponsors.
9:16AM - Sorry for the lack of names - they fly by really fast and the spelling would be questionable. Well, here are your judges!
9:14AM - Many guest speakers - everyone seems to be happy that they're skipping school.
9:06AM - The Aim High video is playing.
9:03AM - We just moved about six or seven times. This place is packed! The opening ceremonies are more or less beginning now, with Dean on screen.
8:35AM - Good morning everyone! We've got seats and the rules for matches are being outlined right now. Opening ceremonies start at 9AM sharp.
