Robotics tournament to inject $1M into Windsor-Essex economy

The windsor-essex great lakes regional will be held in windsorthis year and for many after it. This event is expected to inject $1m into the windsor-essex economy, with over 1200 high school students expected to attend.

Our city of Windsor will be hosting our first FIRST Robotics Regional, "FIRST Essex County Great Lakes Regional", in April of 2014. On September 9, 2013 Valiant hosted a public annoucem,ent in order to officially declared our city as the host for the new regional.
Sabre Bytes in the Windsor Star

The Sabre Bytes robotics team has won a $6,400 grant from the Chrysler Foundation to help it offset costs associated with competing in robotics tournaments. Team 772 was the only Canadian team among 25 elementary, middle and highschool teams to share in $147 000 in grants as part of the Chrysler Foundations's support of the 2013 FIRST robotics season.
St. Louis World Championships

Team 772 was very successful this year, winning the Smoky Mountains Regional, which has given us the opportunity to attend the 2012 FIRST world championships in St. Louis. Overall we did well, unfortunately we were not one of the teams to get picked for the elimination matches.
WEtech Alliance's Robotics Open House

The University of Windsor, St. Clair College and FIRST Robotics held an event with special guest Canadian Astronaut Marc Garneau, which teams 772 and 1114 attended. This was held to inspire the youth of Windsor-Essex County to get involved in the constantly growing and expanding sector of science and technology.
