WEtech Alliance's Robotics Open House

Teams 772 and 1114 attended the WEtech Alliance’s Robotics open house at the Windsor Public Library. The University of Windsor, St. Clair College and FIRST Robotics held an event with special guest Canadian Astronaut Marc Garneau. They inspired the youth of Windsor-Essex County to get involved in the constantly growing and expanding sector of science and technology.

Sandwich Secondary School's own Robotics Team 772 was there to show off their magnificent basketball-shooting robot from the past year's FIRST robotics season. Challenging the robot’s basketball-shooting skills was the Windsor Express basketball team, who, in the end could not manage to beat DR0iD, 772’s own robot.

Along with having fun and showcasing science and technology, Robotics teams 772 and 1114 collaborated together to share programming, and designing techniques. Looking up to them, was the FLL team from Wheatley, who showed off their own Lego Robots to the general public. “It’s LeBron James meets General Motors” says Irek Kusmierczyk, program manager of WEtech Alliance.
